Bodybuilding Show! - BNBF, June 08 & Oct 08!

Hey guys! I thought I would post some photos that I took in June and October last year at the British National Bodybuilding Federation. The one in June was the Scottish Championships and October was the British Championships - all the finalists from around UK, were up against each other. I went to these shows to get inspiration, but I am still where I was last year! Sooo, I thought I would post them to remind myself what I'm really aiming for. And after reading all the blogs for the girls that are competing already in Figure, I know it takes a lot of hard work and determination, but one day, I too would love to go on the stage (hey you never know!) lol. I think I may give up Weight Watchers, because I know that's not going to help get me there - EVER! I think BFL or Precision Nutrition is a good starting point and once I read a bit more about PN, then I will decide what to do then! Anyway, enjoy the photos! Some of the pics are a bit blurry, but they are still awesome! Click on them to get full size!

This girl won the Scottish Nationals (Layla Docherty) and placed 3rd in the British Championships.

Some other pics - not sure of the girls' names-

Aren't they amazing!!!

Have a cool weekend!

More Positive!!

Hey people,

When reading my last post, I realised I need to stop whining, just get on with things, and just do it! (Hillary, thank you for your comments! You made me feel so much better, that I CAN do it, and I don't have to give up. I'm going to try your tips about doing sit ups or push ups before eating something junky. I feel so much better now, and I think you really helped with that!)

So I thought I would be more positive about health in this post. This past week I have been getting more sleep, trying not to eat so bad, and just trying not to obsess about food, which inevitably leads to binges. We got home early from work yesterday (yippeee!) so when I got home, I got stuck in to some housework! I had MTV on, dusting cloth in hand and went to work. When the vacuum cleaner came out though, that's when Molly started barking at me, and going crazy (I don't think she likes the vacuum cleaner?! lol) I even tried to clean the windows, which is tricky, because we live in an apartment, on the 3rd floor, and I can't reach the top or bottom corners of the window from inside- so now you can see where I cleaned to! Hey ho!

Tonight I am going to tackle our second bedroom, which we had initially turned in to a gym ( it was a huge monstrosity multi-gym with Smith machine, bench, flye, pulley system. It was great but not a lot of room to walk round it to add your weights on to it. So, we took a while to get rid of that and in that time it really became a dumping ground for towels, washing baskets and old clothes! Then Kenny started using it for playing his Xbox, so now all that is in there, and there is also an exercise bike, which is a really good one, better than some of the ones you get in the gyms! We still have the olympic dumb-bells, olympic barbell, EZ-curl bar and loads of weights. I really want to get that room tidied so we can turn it in to a mini movie theatre/gym - sounds cool! If only we had enough room for an indoor pool and bowling alley :P

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Bingeing

I have flipped over the edge and have been on a binge for the last week! I keep thinking about food, what am I going to eat next, and I don't care if I put on weight this week at Weight watchers - which will almost certainly be the case! I know I can't give up, but I feel as if I'm just going round in circles - good one day, bad the next. Except now I have been "bad" for a full week now! As I sit here and type this, I feel so full I could burst, but I'm still thinking about what to eat in the next five minutes! I might even go to the bakery next door to work and get a big cake!!

Mmmmm....doughnuts!

I need an intervention!!

Help me!

Need some inspiration!

I don't know what's happened to me, but since Wednesday, I have been eating like a complete PIG! And it's all because I put on half a pound at Weight Watchers class on Wednesday night! I had been doing a lot of walking, watching what I was eating and then to put on a half pound just sent me over the edge. It hasn't helped that I have been feeling exhausted every day, even more so now since I have been eating crap for the last few days. I could go to sleep right now! I can't be bothered doing anything and just feel bleh :-( I have been reading all the great blogs out there, trying to get some inspiration so I can feel more optimistic and get back on track. I'm so fed up that I can't even be bothered going to make dinner! Soooo lazy!

I hope I get out of this funk soon - or it will be even worse at weigh in next Wednesday.

"I hope you dance" video helped me feel a bit better last night - maybe I should listen to it again:

And here is a quote I really liked!
"Happiness is like a butterfly: The more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.— Henry David Thoreau

I need to give myself a shake! So I will drag my butt to the kitchen and make a healthy dinner and blast some dance music! And I WILL DANCE!

Hey I feel better already!
Hello my little chickadees! Hope you have all had a good weekend and having a good week so far! My lovely fiance bought me a little gift on Valentine's day that I had been coveting ever since he bought me my Ipod Nano! A Nike+ sensor! You may have noticed my Nike mini me on the right side! When I upload my workouts it updates with my latest distance and time - oh me likey! I haven't ran much since last Thursday, I just can't seem to do it! My legs feel as if they might snap or something! Not good - maybe it's shin splints? Anyway, I have been walking A LOT since Saturday and have done over 9 miles! My diet has been okay but I have discovered a love for baking and made peanut butter cookies on Sunday - I took some into work and gave the rest to my dad, but I still had a fair share! My weight is down to 177.8 today though so couldn't have done too much damage.

Off to watch Supersize vs superskinny! Have a good night :-)

Gym time!

I've had a really good week this week - and went to the gym Tuesday and Today (Thursday). On Tuesday when I went, I did just over an hour, and that included 52 mins on the treadmill and 10 mins on the cross trainer. And get this! I actually RAN for 40 minutes - yes that's right, 40 MINUTES!! I did 5.56km and I was so amazed I kept going! However, when I slowed down for my cool down, I felt like I was going to faint - I was holding on tight to that bar and telling myself not to pass out! lol - Luckily I managed to hold it together and did some time on the cross trainer and then some stretches.

WORKOUT - TUESDAY

Treadmill 52 minutes (Running for 40!)
5.56km

Cross trainer 10 minutes

TOTAL CALORIES BURNED 603
MAX HR 181
AVG HR 154

Today when I went to the gym I tried to run again but only managed 7 or 8 minutes - I could feel my legs weren't loving the running so I walked on 6% incline .

WORKOUT - THURSDAY

Treadmill 40 minutes

Bike 25 minutes (highest level - level 6) - interval training

TOTAL CALORIES BURNED 542
MAX HR 165
AVG HR 137

Will be going grocery shopping later to get some more soup making ingredients - and maybe some ingredients to make some cookies!

Have a great day everyone! -)

Soup and Cake!

Well, I had a great weekend and a good week last week! And on Saturday when I did my at home weigh in, my weight was down another 2 lbs to 178.6!! Wow! I am sooo glad to be under 180 at long last! But on Friday night, I made this bad boy!

I got this recipe from Angela's site at Oh..she glows
. It is absolutely delicious! And probably has a million points in it! lol I gave about a quarter of it to my dad, and I have packaged about half of it and will take it in to work tomorrow! It's Brownie Pecan Caramel Cake, but I couldn't get pecans, so used sliced almonds on top instead - no less tasty!

And I made a huge pot of soup to do me for my lunches at work! Yummy healthy stuff!

I haven't been to the gym in over a week! Though I have been doing a bit of running when out with Molly.

This photo was taken when we went to Troon Beach a few weeks ago .........brrrr it was cold!

The snow has arrived here, and it's the first time Molly has been out in it! It's so cute to watch her jump about trying to catch the falling snowflakes! Guaranteed to get you out of a bad mood!

Tomorrow I am hitting the gym and getting back to running! I hope you have all had a great weekend and have a great week! :-)

One Hundred and Eighty!

Well yesterday morning I weighed myself at home and to my complete delight, I was 180.6lbs!!! I am sooo pleased that I finally got to see that 180 on the scale!

I went to the gym on Thursday after work, and did 50 mins on the treadmill, and managed to run 10 minutes without stopping! That is a big achievement for me and although it was hard, I really showed myself that I can do these things if I set my mind to it!

On Saturday night (last night), Kenny and I went to see My Bloody Valentine 3D - omg, it was scary - I was sitting next to a couple of girls, and I think we were the only ones that kept screaming at the scary bits! Kenny wasn't scared in the least - well so he says! lol

I was going to do Atkins for a week just to give myself a weight loss boost, but today I felt terrible and decided losing weight wasn't worth feeling ill over! When I did Atkins last year, I lasted 5 weeks - and lost 10lbs the first 2 weeks, then after induction I kept eating Peanut butter! Not good! lol I got down to 168 pounds and when I stopped Atkins that's when I went crazy and my weight climbed up to 189lbs!

I'm going to go make dinner now - I'm having sirloin steak and I'm not sure what else! lol

Hope you are all having a good weekend! :-)
