Weigh In Results - Thursday 27 Jan 2011 and Couch to 5k update

Hey guys!  I have been meaning to blog but kept getting caught up in reading everyone else's updates ;)

I weighed in at WW last Thursday.  I lost 3.5lbs!!  I was ecstatic!  I thought I was heading for a 2lb loss but was delightfully surprised that it was almost double.

I finished my first week of Couch to 5k on Sunday afternoon!  I felt great doing this workout again.  I ran faster and kept my incline at 2%.  I did slow down on my walking bits, as I read on someones blog (I can't remember whose it was!) that if it is feeling too much to walk a bit slower.  So I did!  Which helped me run faster - yay!

I was going to start Week 2 today, but work got in the way and I had to work late.  Blah!  I am hoping to go on Thursday and get it started!

My eating the last couple of days has been baad.  I have been eating far too many sweet things, cakey things and chocolate cookies!  BAD, BAD, BAD!!  Why do I feel I need to eat this crap??  I don't know why but I really need to figure this out.  Or I'll just keep losing and gaining the same 5lbs over and over again!

Anyway, I don't really have much else going on just now - going to walk Molly and try and get to bed earlier tonight!  My goals I set last week haven't really been met............I need to start focussing on me and taking care of myself.

Oh, and a big hello to my new followers!  Welcome!

Couch to 5k update

Hey guys!  Thanks for your comments about my wee nephew!  Isn't he the cutest?! =)

Anyway - I'm so proud to say I made it to the gym again today for another session of Couch to 5k.
This was Week 1 - Day 2!  And it felt TOUGH!  It seemed tougher than Sunday's session and it was exactly the same workout.  Maybe cos I've been at work all day, maybe a bit more tired?  Dunno, but 10 minutes in I really wanted to quit.  I was sweating buckets after just my first bout of running.  But I persevered and after 20 minutes, I started to feel good.  I liked that sweat was dripping from my forehead!  Ha ha!

Todays workout:

Treadmill - 35 minutes - Incline 2% - Couch to 5k - Week 1 - Day 2

Calories Burned:   400

I have been eating my fruits and veggies (At least 5 servings a day), drinking my water (and some diet soda - I really need to give it up (again!)) and trying to get to bed earlier.  I have also been out during my lunch break for a quick half hour of brisk walking!  I haven't done so well in getting up early to get to work though - I just feel exhausted in the morning.  I even bought one of those lamps that wake you up with gradual light and birdsong! The birds drive me crazy in the morning! lol  - I think it's helping me a bit in getting up in the morning since its like hazy morning sunshine in my bedroom in the morning!  Here is the wake up light  I bought:-

It's still a struggle for me to get up in the morning but this has helped me tremendously!  I would certainly recommend it if you find it difficult to get up in the morning.  The light comes on gradually and begins about half an hour before your actual alarm time is set.  But don't have the sound too loud - the birds will sound like they are in your room!  lol

Is anyone else doing the Couch to 5k?  How are you finding it??

Baby Pics, Couch to 5k and Goals!

Hey guys!  Sorry I've been MIA the last week or so.  I have been so busy and so obsessed with my teeny tiny little nephew!  He was born last Sunday at 6.21pm and weighed 5lbs exactly!  He is so adorable, I can hardly stand it! lol  Here is a wee pic of him.  His name is Aaron =)

1 day old!
Do you like my hair??!!
Isn't he gorgeous?!!

Anyway, he was my excuse for skipping my workouts and not following my WW plan.  I started from scratch (again!) yesterday and hit up the gym this morning.  I started the Couch to 5k plan again - and this time I'm just going to follow it to the T!  Usually I start to feel a lot fitter and run for longer than they say - of course, I end up burning myself out and giving up altogether.  This time I am determined not to overdo it.  If I follow and complete the plan, then I could finally call myself a runner!  I would love to be a runner and be able to complete a 5K, 10K, hell, even one day a Marathon!!

Here's my workout for today:

Treadmill 30 minutes - Couch to 5k - Running intervals (5 min warm up. 1 min run. 1.30 walk. 5 min cooldown).
Spin Bike - 35 minutes - I did a "spin class" podcast that I downloaded - Let me tell you it was H.A.R.D.!!

Then I stretched for about 5 minutes.  And did a cool down walk around the gym.

Total Calories Torched:  759 calories. (10 Activity points earned!)

My diet today has been pretty good too!  I have had plenty water, 5 servings of fruit and veg, a healthy dinner, healthy snacks (and some unhealthy ones but I have tracked 'em).  I just have to remember how good I feel when I eat well and exercise.  It's not rocket science...... =)

My Goals for 2011

By New Year's Eve 2011 - I hope to be a healthy and happy weight - hopefully about 125lbs!

Keep kicking ass in the gym

Complete a 5K and then perhaps a 10k!

Start paying off some of my credit card debt.

Try out Roller Derby.

.............this is all I can think of right now!  It will be a work in progress!!

My goals for this week are:

To exercise at least 3 times in the gym

To track my pro-points and stay within said pro-points!

To lose at least 3lbs at my next weigh in

To eat more fruit and veggies

Drink more water

Get up early for work!  (This will be the most difficult - bahahaha!)

Ok, time to go get things ready for the morning.  Hope you all have a kick ass week!

Another GREAT day!!

Hey everyone!  How is your weekend going?  Mine has been pretty good, but quiet!  Yesterday I had lunch with my dad.  But I had a cake after it........ and it was delicious!  But that was the only bad thing I had yesterday.  Usually if I eat something like that I just think I've blown it, I might as well eat 10 bars of chocolate, more cakes and lots of bread!  I wasn't even that hungry come dinner time so I just had a wrap with sliced roast chicken and salad.  I have to remember that healthy food tastes even better than crap food!

Today, was a GREAT day.  It started off, where I slept til 12 (SHOCK!  I couldn't sleep very well last night so I got up and watched episodes of the Waltons til 3!)  I felt like I had wasted most of the day.  Kenny was heading off to the gym and I just wanted to curl up on the couch and watch rubbish telly but he convinced me to get out for a long walk with Molly.  So I got changed, strapped my heart rate monitor on, grabbed my iPhone, put on my fabulous new playlist, and did Couch to 5K.  Now I have done this before, got to the 2nd week and feel like I can run for 30 mins without stopping.  I found it so hard just to run for 1 minute.  But it was a glorious day, the sun was shining, and although it was quite cold, I kept going until I completed my 30 minutes, and then continued for a further 30 minutes of walking with a bit of random jogging!  Molly loved it too!  I took a few photos while I was out - what a beautiful day it was!

My favorite pup!!

562 Calories TORCHED BABY!!!

When I got home, I started work on making my Tomato and Basil soup!  It was so simple.  A tin of Plum tomatoes, frozen diced onion, frozen baby carrots, fresh basil chopped, and vegetable stock!

My freshly chopped basil!  Looks like a professional photo eh!

Soup a simmerin'

Frozen diced onions and baby carrots!

Basil - just in case you couldn't tell!

Instructions!

"Fry" onions and carrots until soft.
Add tin of tomatoes and stock,
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Add in handful of chopped basil.
Blend roughly in blender.

SERVE!!

Simple even for me!!  Ha ha!!

I bought a food flask yesterday too, so I can heat my soup in the morning, put in ma flask, and take it to work!!  EASY!

And before I go - my starting weight...............DUN DUN DUN!!!!

187.8lbs  -  I think thats about the same weight I was when I started this blog!!  But no point in crying over put on fat!  It's time to be positive.  Time to get this fat off once and for all.  No matter how long it takes.

I will post my measurements tomorrow.  I did take some during the week, but I can't seem to find my notebook :-(    I do remember it being bad though!

And before I go, I thought I would show you all the flowers I bought myself yesterday!  They sure do brighten up the coffee table =)

Goodnight wonderful bloggers!

It's a Thrill!!

Last night we went to see Thriller, Live! OMG! What an amazing show this was. The dancing, the singing, everything about this was just awesome! I wasn’t sure what to expect, I don’t really like reading reviews about shows or movies, because I want to be surprised when I see them! I only took one photo while we were there because we were up dancing most of the time! If you get a chance to see this show, I wouldn’t hesitate in getting a ticket!!

I wore these fabulous shoes – which I got for a steal at a second hand store! They only cost £6.99! Brand new, Kenneth Cole! What a bargain! And they were fairly comfortable – but after about 2 hours of dancing, standing and walking to and from the car, I had to take them off! Luckily, I brought a spare pair of heels with me that only about a one a half inch heel!
So I weighed in this morning and my weight is back up to 172.4. No surprise there at all – I know I can lose it again – and healthy food tastes so much better anyways, I don’t know why I have been eating KFC! I used to hate the stuff. Maybe they put an addictive substance into their 11 spices! Ha ha!

I had this for breakfast this morning, and then the rest as a snack later on this afternoon. It was so yummy. Only 5 points for the whole box (2 servings!lol)

I also hit the gym tonight. My 3rd time this week! Go me! I did just over an hour. I have completed Week 1 of the Couch to 5K program. I did a 10 minutes on the X-trainer, 2 sets of squats on the Power Plate, some incline bench presses, incline flyes. I burned over 400 calories! And I feel amazing! I did just over 3km on the treadmill – in fact at one point I thought I was going to pass out because I was running so fast (I’m only 5’2, short legs and going 12km/h is fast for me! lol

I booked tickets earlier to go see Phil Vassar! Has anyone heard of him?? Yet another country singer coming to Glasgow!! Come on Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood – GLASGOW is where it’s at!!! Lol

PS. Before I go, here is a shot of Toby Keith, when we went to see him last month. I totally forgot to do this when I blogged about him.
Going to watch the Hills, then off to bed! Hope you have all had a fabulous weekend!!!
