Workouts!

I know, I know, I'm such a bad blogger :-( I have just been busy with work, gym and trips to the park with Molly! My workouts have been going GREAT!! On Friday, I had a free session with the personal trainer at the gym. He has given me a Body for Life style workout to do, which will mean 6 days a week in the gym, BUT, should be in and out in within an hour - WOOT!

Here is my new workout plan:

Monday: Upper Body
Tuesday: Cardio
Wednesday: Lower Body
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Upper Body
Saturday: Cardio
Sunday: Rest Day

I can't wait to start to start my program tomorrow!

The last few days have been glorious here! It's about time the sun came out in Scotland! Yesterday my dad and I went to Helensburgh, had a lovely lunch in a wee Italian restaurant. We both had mozzarella, red onion and basil on toasted sandwiches. DELICIOUS!!! The last week I have been making an extra effort to get my fruit and veg in and I never thought I would say this, but I am loving them!! I have found vegetables that I like, and have been having my Green Monsters, salad with my lunch and dinner, and fruit for snacks at work.

I will get back to regular posting this week, to update my workouts and my eating. I am staying away from the scale from the time being. I am just getting too obsessed with the number, even though my clothes are fitting better, the scale is not budging!

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!!

Back to Basics

So my weight has not gone down the last couple of weeks. I have been exercising, tennis, gym and swimming, but I have been eating far too much. And not too healthily either. I am back in this place in my head where I'm looking through all the diets - WW (AGAIN!), Slimming World, Scottish Slimmers, Atkins (AGAIN!), the Low GI Diet, or my favorite - I won't count anything, I'll just try to eat more healthily diet! So with all these things on my mind and the indecision, I have been on the eating everything I can get my hands on diet!

But today, I had a revelation! I don't need to do any plan! I'm going back to basics and counting plain old calories in, and calories out! That's what it's really all about isn't it?! But my diet is going to be more than sweets, chips and chocolate. I have jumped on the Green Monster wagon that everyone is on, and do you know what?! I LOVE THEM!! Who would have thought I would like a Spinach, strawberry and banana smoothie?? Crazy! Here's a photo of one I just made. I made it with one small banana, 5 frozen strawberries, 100ml soy milk and 50g spinach!

That's my Colorado House of Beef Hurricane glass I got in Kissimmee, Florida!

Before I go, I thought I would leave you with a photo of The Doulton Fountain. My Dad and I went here last week and a few weeks ago.
The Doulton Fountain is the largest terracotta fountain in the world, as well as the best surviving example of its kind. The fountain has been beautifully restored and relocated to the front of the People's Palace. The People's Palace is a museum in Glasgow - it is Glasgow's social history museum with displays, photos and exhibits that tell the story of the people of Glasgow from 1750 to the present!

And this photo, just because!

Have a great weekend!

Sunday tennis!

I can't believe how many times I've been to my new gym this week. I have been there 6 times since last Sunday! Tonight we "played" tennis for an hour and then I had a short 10 length swim and relaxed in the steam room......bliss!

Today we went shopping and bought our own tennis racquets. I even treated myself to two new tops - one for work, and one for summer! I will try and post photos of them soon!

Well just wanted to do a quick update before I head off to bed shortly!

More tennis tomorrow! Have a good night everyone!

Tennis!!

Hey peeps, how is everyone? Thursday night we went to our tennis welcome meeting. It was brilliant! There were 4 of there, me, Kenny, and another couple. The tennis coach just basically showed us how to do the forehand shot. I thought it would be easy, but apparently not! I kept bending my wrist instead of moving my whole arm into the shot - I think I was concentrating to hard on each move of the shot and just messing it up! I was even hitting balls right over the high netting into the next court! Ooops! We liked it so much we have signed up for the Fast Track Tennis class that starts in June - can't wait!

Today I went to the gym to get a training program set up for me. The trainer was really nice, very informative and set up a fabulous program! I will be doing 20 mins of Cross Trainer - intervals. For strength training, I will be doing legs, chest, back and abs. My leg workout will be on the Power Plate (squats and lunges), Chest press, incline chest press, Lat pulldown and Rows and planks for my abs.

Next week I will have a free personal trainer session and on Monday we will be playing tennis - to practice ;-)

I AM LOVING THIS GYM!!!

Here's to a fit and fabulous weekend!

A quickie!

Time flies by so quickly! I hadn't realised how long it has been since I last posted - too busy reading all the fabulous blogs out there! This is a just a quick update before I head off to bed. This week I have been working 8 to 6 as I am covering for my colleague! So have been going to work, coming home, walking Molly, watching TV and then off to bed! How depressing! lol

The good thing is Kenny and I have joined a gym together. I had joined the gym back in January but never went. It was always too busy at the weights, treadmills broken, people not wiping down the equipment after use.... yuck! So we have joined this gym, it's only a 5 to 10 minute drive away and has tennis courts, squash courts and even an outdoor pool! The actual fitness suite is large, plenty of weight benches, vibro-plates and the best cross trainers I have ever used! There is even a relaxation area called the Celsius Suite - which has the whirlpool spa, steam room and sauna and a sun bed. There are also loungers so you can just go and chill out. And the best part is, no kids are allowed in here! Mwahahaha!

Tomorrow we are going to the Tennis welcome meeting, so they can assess us and tell us what level of tennis we are at .....emm that would be zero ??? Probably! lol It's been years since I played tennis, well last time was when I was 10 or 11!!

Will post about the tennis adventures on Friday!

Hope you are all having a fab week!

So long Atkins.....

After two weeks on Atkins, and losing 10.6lbs, I have now gone back to a more healthy and balanced approach to weight loss. Atkins just seems to restrictive to me, even after induction, and too time consuming. It is good for a kick start to weight loss for a short time but trying to prepare lunches for work was a bit of a nightmare. I dropped a dress size, back down to a UK size 16. I was approaching a size 20!! Yikes! I have, however, put on nearly 4lbs since stopping Atkins, but that's just because I went a little crazy when I allowed myself to eat carbs again! Chinese food, slices of toast with butter, chocolate.....mmmmm! But my size has stayed the same and I'm still wearing my size 16 trousers to work, and get this, I can even get them on and off without unbuttoning them!!! Mwahahaha!

Tonight I went back to good ol' Weight Watchers! I had lost 6.5lbs since the last time I was there, which took me to a total of 14 pounds.

I have joined Rebecca at Fat, Fitness, Food on her Five Week Frenzy Challenge! We are all aiming to lose 10lbs in five weeks!! Check out her blog. She is a real inspiration!

I'm also really into Kelly O's blog! She's just awesome! Check out her new revamped blog!

I really want to revamp my own blog. I feel it's a little dull and boring! It needs a bit more pizzaz, and more updates!

Hopefully I can figure out how to make a totally fantastic blog! Stay tuned.....

Have a great day everyone!
