Anyway - I'm so proud to say I made it to the gym again today for another session of Couch to 5k.
This was Week 1 - Day 2! And it felt TOUGH! It seemed tougher than Sunday's session and it was exactly the same workout. Maybe cos I've been at work all day, maybe a bit more tired? Dunno, but 10 minutes in I really wanted to quit. I was sweating buckets after just my first bout of running. But I persevered and after 20 minutes, I started to feel good. I liked that sweat was dripping from my forehead! Ha ha!
Todays workout:
Treadmill - 35 minutes - Incline 2% - Couch to 5k - Week 1 - Day 2
Calories Burned: 400
I have been eating my fruits and veggies (At least 5 servings a day), drinking my water (and some diet soda - I really need to give it up (again!)) and trying to get to bed earlier. I have also been out during my lunch break for a quick half hour of brisk walking! I haven't done so well in getting up early to get to work though - I just feel exhausted in the morning. I even bought one of those lamps that wake you up with gradual light and birdsong! The birds drive me crazy in the morning! lol - I think it's helping me a bit in getting up in the morning since its like hazy morning sunshine in my bedroom in the morning! Here is the wake up light I bought:-
It's still a struggle for me to get up in the morning but this has helped me tremendously! I would certainly recommend it if you find it difficult to get up in the morning. The light comes on gradually and begins about half an hour before your actual alarm time is set. But don't have the sound too loud - the birds will sound like they are in your room! lol
Is anyone else doing the Couch to 5k? How are you finding it??

I'm so proud that you got through that second workout. I can empathize, when I first done the C25K a couple of years ago, it was really hard! I wanted to quit many times. But, I was so happy when I finished it. I would like to do it again someday, maybe when summer comes;) Just hang in there, you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteI need to get one of those lamp shades. :) That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHey Eve! I've always thought about doing a C25K program - I've got one sitting in my Firefox bookmarks right now. I guess I've just always thought that running is not for me, never has been, never will be, but maybe after seeing how you get on with it I'll have to check it out a little more. : )
