Today, I finally got my act together and have a new plan of action in place!! Guess what it is?! Go on, guess!
Diet and exercise!! Wow, what a new concept eh?! Seriously though, I have decided that for now I am just going to stick to counting calories. My calorie allowance at the moment will be 1500 daily. I am using Fitday to log my calories and exercise (which is free!) and my gym plan is just to get my butt along there. I figured I will start off slowly again and build up my exercise as I get more fit and confident again. I am aiming to get to the gym every day for a 30 minute workout. That is totally doable and I'm just going to git 'er done.
So today's workout was a 10 minute walk (1.10km) on the treadmill. I was going to do 30 minutes but my feet got really crampy and sore 8 minutes in. I had my new trainers on, so I guess my feet and body are just adapting to them! So I hopped off the treadmill and did 20 minutes on the elliptical.
The stats!
Treadmill: Incline 2% - running and walking - 10 mins - 150 cals burned.
Elliptical: Kilimanjaro Hill Setting - Level 10 thru 17! - 20 mins - 200 cals burned.
I sure was a sweaty mess when I finished! And, I felt great =)
I also hit up the grocery store when I left the gym and discovered this great little find!
Now, I know you probably have this the US & Canada, but it's the first time I've discovered them here. I can't wait to make a pizza with them. The only downside is that they're not wholemeal :-( Maybe they will make them here soon. Oh, and I wish they sold Vitatops here! I am dying to try one!
I also prepared my salads for the rest of the week. I chopped up a red onion and red pepper so that I can add these easy to my pre-packed salad bags. I feel so in control :-)
I have just tried to sync up my Nike + to their website but it won't load today's workout :-( It's shocking to see that my last run using my nike+ was August 2009! Yikes!
Ok, time to catch up on some trashy TV before bed.

Back when I was running I used Nike+ religiously but I found that it didn't always calibrate correctly (or load right). Every few months I'd run the nearby track for 1 mile just to recalibrate the mileage.
ReplyDeleteI used fitday when I started and loved it! It's very addictive for Type A people. :) Glad to hear you are getting busy and I wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteOoh where did you get the wraps? Just had a look in my local Tescos but they don't have them and they look fab. And I agree, isn't it annoying how many fab healthy foods they have in the States that we don't have here? I would love to try some Kashi cereal, Ezekial products and go shopping at TJs and Whole Foods!
ReplyDeleteI got the wraps in Morrison's! Warburton's make them - they are just new so maybe they haven't rolled them out to all the supermarkets yet! Yeah, I agree the supermarkets in the US are sooo much better than here! I loved Whole Foods when I was Orlando - I took loads of photos in there too! I'm crazy like that! lol You could even make your own peanut butter and almond butter and stuff - just love that place! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Eve! Thanks for visiting my blog. You look amazing. I just became a follower of yours today :) Mongolian BBQ is a buffet style restaurant...You have control of the meats, noodles, and vegetables that you put in your bowl. Then you add in any sauces or flavorings that you want into you bowl, and the cooks will cook the food on a large Mongolian grill for you. It's really tasty. Usually I get 1 cup of noodles, tons and tons of veggies, with garlic and teriyaki sauce, and then get it cooked. It's delicious :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stoppin' by my bliz-og, Doll!
ReplyDeleteWay to go with reorganizing the plan! I look forward to celebrating your successes! Keep the pride! :-)
It's been awhile, I hope you're doing okay:)
